While learning about holiday traditions IHM’s toddlers enjoy a multi-cultural learning experience. With a focus on “Friendships” and using the familiar Nickelodeon cartoon “Dora Around the World” IHM’s 3 year olds reviewed Dora’s map and revisited the places she traveled. Angelina Morgan and Rose Broussard, the toddler teachers discussed friendships and how Jesus was a gift and a friend to all people. The students visited France, Africa, Russia and China during this thematic lesson. One of the school’s brick walls served as a symbol of the Great Wall of China. Each child received a Friendship bracelet as they learned to appreciate people of all cultures during this international celebration. |

IHM Library read in program! Promoting Literacy with one Book At A Time
IHM students always enjoy a good book especially during our IHM Reading In Book Program when they find books written by or about famous Americans appealing, uplifting and a particularly enriching treat. Pictured above, IHM’s teachers display their favorite library books. Thanks to the generosity of IHM benefactors, Ms. Delores Hamilton (librarian) has amassed a wonderful collection of fiction and no-fiction books for the entire IHM student body’s reading pleasure. |
